Eligibility

All artists over the age of 18 who accept the terms and conditions of the Guidelines for Participation.

Original artworks using watermedia techniques (watercolor, liquid acrylics, acrylics, gouache etc) on paper.

The artworks must be painted by the artists themselves and cannot not be copies of works of other artists. 

Works must be completed within the past three years.

Each artist has the right to submit up to 5 (five) watercolors. Only one may be selected. 

Submission of Works 

Form

The artist has to fill the Submission Form (which can also be downloaded from the website and blog of WI). The form must be submitted along with the photos of the watercolors to wi3participants@gmail.com . 

 

Photos/JPEGS

JPEGS of works must be 300 dpi, 1200 pixels in the longest dimension. 

The files must be names like this: [Last name]_[First name]_[Title]_[dimensions]_[Country], i.e. Saunders_John_Still Life with Books_38x56cm_USA . 

Entry Fee

Submission is open from February 20, 2022.

Early Bird Entry Fee till 15 March is 20 euros for one or two paintings, 5 for each additional one. 

Entry Fee after 10 March is 28 euros for one or two paintings, 8 for each additional one.

Entries will not be considered for selection if the fee is not paid. 

Online Exhibition

The paintings will be presented in an online 3-D Virtual Exhibition.

An e-catalogue of the paintings will be issued as well (downloadable and printable). 

Sales

The paintings may be for sale. There will be a commission of 20% on sales. In case of a sale, the artist is responsible of shipping the painting to the buyer.

Awards

Several Awards will be given, including Cash Awards, Art Material Awards while 

• the Grand Prize will include the Invitation to exhibit in the next Watercolor International Biennial in Thessaloniki (WI6), plus 3 days lodging in a hotel in Thessaloniki during the Biennial Exhibition and Artists Dinner included and 

• the Second Prize will include the Invitation to exhibit in the next Watercolor Biennial in Thessaloniki.
